Achieve are recruiting for a 6 -Ton Excavator Operator in the - Port Douglas area. This role will start in March and continue on for about 3mths or more.
Job Overview: Achieve Group are seeking hardworking, dedicated Landscape Team Members to join our crew. The ideal candidate is passionate about outdoor work, has attention to detail, and can work efficiently in various weather conditions. Experience with irrigation systems and operating a 6-ton excavator is a essential.
Key Responsibilities: • Install, maintain, and repair irrigation systems, including troubleshooting issues and ensuring optimal water efficiency.
• Operate a 6-ton excavator for tasks such as digging, grading, and moving earth as part of the landscaping projects.
• Assist with the installation of hardscape features, such as patios, walkways, retaining walls, and garden beds.
• Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of work areas and equipment.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and machinery safely and effectively.
• Communicate with team members and supervisors to ensure projects are completed on time and to specifications.
• Load and unload materials, ensuring proper handling and storage.
• Perform routine equipment checks and maintenance.
Qualifications: • Experience in irrigation system installation, maintenance, and repair.
• Proficiency in operating a 6-ton excavator with safety and precision.
• Prior landscaping or horticulture experience preferred.
• Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 25kgs) and work on your feet for extended periods.
• Knowledge of plant care, soil preparation, and irrigation systems.
• Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions (rain, heat, cold).
• A strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• A valid driver’s license (essential).
• Holding Bobcat, Roller or Backhoe tickets are highly regarded
