Our client is seeking a relief Airport Manager for a 1 month position, the required timeframe is over December/January and will assist in covering compliance requirements.

About the Role: As the Airport  Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of airport operations, including security, maintenance, emergency planning, and infrastructure development. You will lead and manage operational activities to ensure the airport runs efficiently, safely, and in full compliance with all relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage operational and security policies for the airport.
  • Oversee the operational and capital budget, ensuring financial efficiency.
  • Lead the project management of capital works and infrastructure developments.
  • Chair key airport committees, including the Airport User Group, Airport Emergency & Safety Committee, and Security Committee.
  • Coordinate and conduct compliance audits to ensure adherence to regulatory standards.
  • Facilitate the implementation of strategic plans (including business, master, and marketing plans) for the growth and development of the airport.
  • Provide support for commercial tenancy agreements, negotiations, and leasing within the airport precinct.
  • Manage security operations, including the Visitor Identification Card system, video surveillance, and car park access controls.
  • Foster effective communication and relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory authorities, tenants, and customers.
Position Requirements:
  • Aviation Security Identification (ASIC) Card.
  • Aviation Radio Operators Certificate.
  • Cert III in Aviation (Aerodrome Operations).
  • Queensland Driver’s Licence.
  • Queensland Security Licence or eligibility to obtain.
  • Demonstrated experience in the aviation industry, airport operations, aviation security, and emergency management.
  • In-depth knowledge of aviation industry regulations and standards, including CASA, Airservices, and Department of Infrastructure and Regional Development.
Desired:
  • Aeronautical knowledge (e.g., pilot’s licence), or experience in surveying or civil engineering.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to maintain effective relationships with diverse groups.
  • Leadership experience, with the ability to lead teams and manage operational challenges.
  • Knowledge of obstacle limitation surfaces, runway safety, and aerodrome infrastructure.
