Our client is seeking an internal contractor for their AO4 Communications Officer role within the Stakeholder Management Business Unit. This position is vital for supporting the Stakeholder and Issues Management team, primarily focusing on researching and drafting responses to ministerial and executive correspondence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide accurate and timely communications advice and support to regional staff.
  • Coordinate, research, draft, and edit communications materials, including:
    • Ministerial and executive correspondence
    • Briefing notes and media statements
    • Responses to media inquiries and parliamentary business
    • Online engagement and newsletters
  • Facilitate community engagement and stakeholder consultations during project development.
  • Maintain and update regional webpages to ensure relevance.
  • Offer training and support to enhance communication skills among regional staff and consultants.
 This role reports to the Senior Communications Advisor (Stakeholder and Issues Management).

About you:
  • Degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or marketing (preferred).
  • Proven background in stakeholder management and communication roles.
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
    • Strong research and drafting skills for various communication materials.
    • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with community engagement practices and media relations.
  • IAP2 certification in Engagement is a plus.
  • Excellent time management and ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and managing evolving issues.
  • Collaborative mindset with a willingness to support colleagues and contribute to team goals.
  • Competence in digital communication tools and web content management.
