The Senior Project Manager role offers an exciting opportunity to be a pivotal part of delivering transformative projects within a dynamic, growth-focused environment. This is a 6-month opportunity with a potential 4 month extension.

Role Overview:

The Senior Project Manager will take the lead in managing and overseeing the delivery of complex projects within the Technology Solutions division. You will be responsible for ensuring the successful planning, coordination, and execution of projects, while managing risks, change, and stakeholder expectations. This is a senior leadership role where you will contribute to the long-term strategic direction of the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead projects from initiation through to delivery, transition, and closure, ensuring all goals are met within the agreed time, budget, and quality specifications.
  • Develop and manage comprehensive project plans that include key activities, milestones, and critical paths, ensuring smooth project execution and timely delivery.
  • Identify and mitigate risks across all project phases, including vendor management, financial oversight, and resource allocation.
  • Collaborate with change managers to develop and implement change management strategies that ensure successful project outcomes.
  •  Develop, maintain, and communicate a robust project management framework, ensuring consistency in processes, standards, and best practices.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate collaboration and ensure project objectives are achieved.
Key Requirements:
  • Relevant qualifications and significant experience in project and change management, ideally in the Higher Education sector or a similar complex environment.
  • Extensive experience in managing large-scale projects, particularly IT projects, with a focus on contract management, vendor administration, and budget management.
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities, with a proven ability to motivate and guide teams to achieve project goals.
  • A sound understanding of ICT best practices, with experience in implementing policies and procedures within a project context.
  • Highly developed organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and liaise with stakeholders at all levels, including internal staff and external partners.
Position Dimensions:
  • This role may involve managing and leading staff.
  • Participation in competency and compliance training is required, along with adherence to organisational policies and the code of conduct.
